![]() | Legolas Greenleaf If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Legolas, Elf, a son of the King of Mirkwood. In the movie, I am played by Orlando Bloom. Who would you be? |

Which Disney Princess are you?

The Probe Team people are watching Ghost here in the office and I absolutely love that movie no matter how cheetos it is. Haha! Ok, ok. It's more of I love it for it's sentimental value. My neighbors and I used to watch the beta of this ALL the time when we were bored. I practically memorized it! Like now, I'm facing my computer but I can hear the dialogue and the music and I can visualize the scenes in my head.

I actually went blog hopping and came across a Rainbow Brite website via the blog of a BeaBear. It was a real treat for my officemates and I to see Rainbow Brite again, and the site even includes the first stroy of how Wisp became Rainbow Brite, a story that I had never read about as a child. I remember getting my first Rainbow Brite doll from Santa Claus (My parents were really cool and sneaky!) and collecting stickers for a sticker album that you could submit upon completion to Uncle Bob's Lucky 7 Club. I think my older sister Bianca won for the nature sticker album back then.

Just saw Chungking Express a few hours ago in the UP Film Center with Quark, Ramon, Joey Brash, Ernan, Alexis, and his friend Tim. Well, we didn't exactly sit together, but we were the bunch.
Chungking Express is my second Wong Kar Wai film. I still like In the Mood For Love more, but it was still a cool movie. I liked the shutter speed shots and the editing and the music was laugh trip and the dialogue was fun and the characters...oooh, the first cop Ah Wu was cute. I also recognized the second cop from In the Mood For Love, and it was actually cool to realize that I had already seen 2 Wong Kar Wai films in my life. Not that it's important. Just...cool! :) Especially since I've all these friends and officemates talking about the director (Hell, Ramil's wallpaper is Wong Kar Wai's picture!) and now that I've seen 2 films, I kind of understand what they're talking about. I don't care to join in the discussions very much, though, for fear that I might not have anything as substantial to say. What I enjoy more is watching my friends discuss the film, especially when they start cursing and wailing their arms and jumping and stuff.

Joey’s friends were pretty hilarious. I think it was the first time they’ve gotten together in about 6 years or so. Lady Brash was also present, so we all had a blast screaming at whatever television sets were facing us, banging on the table, stumping our feet, raising our arms after every shot, it was unbelievable. And the Lasallians even brought drums and that stupid horn. It was pretty wild, and really fun and friendly, too. What made it even cooler was that we could smoke, drink and eat while enjoying the game. Yipee!
Ateneo played a very good game. I must admit that I was very much afraid of La Salle, that even if we were leading all the way, they might fire it up in the 4th quarter and kick our asses. But that didn’t happen, and I actually thought, shit, we just might win this. And then it was the last 2 minutes, and I was still afraid, but I knew, I just knew that this had to be it. All the Ateneans were screaming while the Lasallians’ faces started crumpling up with worry.
Ateneo defeated La Salle 77-70 and it was truly a glorious victory. I was so overwhelmed by the happiness in the room and all the balloons and the confetti on TV that I started crying. And what made me cry even more was seeing Villanueva and Manalo hug. It was just such a tight hug that had so much history in it. I was also happy for my friends who were in Araneta having the time of their life and being part of an historical event. And most of all, I was happy for the players. After 14 darn years, man! These players brought basketball glory and respectability back to the Ateneo! That's love! That's heart! (Shit, I might cry na naman.)
I got a text from a friend today that said, “A true archer knows how to put down his arrow when he sees a young eagle determined to fly. He is humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Animo La Salle!” Haha! Bitter. But really, I did feel for La Salle. They were invincible for so many years, and they had to lose to their one rival who hasn’t even been a competitive rival for so long until the new millennium began. Ateneo really had the right mix and they played with so much heart. Hell, Tenorio fouled out and Ateneo had to make use of Cruz whom I’ve never seen play before.
Someone said that during games like the UAAP, the world just stops and you forget about the problems of the economy, the country, the world even. Just watch the game and enjoy life for a while. We really need games like this once in a while. And what I love about sports is that every athlete congratulates his opponent whether or not they like each other. Everyone played a good game, everyone played because they loved the sport, everyone cheered because they loved their school, and everyone did everything together.
